Maximizing the Potential of the Sunset Park Waterfront District

Since 2015, NYCEDC and the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation have been convening the Sunset Park Task Force with the mission of maximizing the potential of the Sunset Park waterfront district.

The group brings together partners and community stakeholders, including business owners, elected officials, and neighborhood residents, throughout the year to further this mission, which includes efforts to advocate for local businesses and the working waterfront, promote transit and transportation, plan for future investments, and more for the area and surrounding community. Task Force Meetings

Sunset Park Task Force meetings are held three to four times a year, and they serve as forums to convene stakeholders who live, work, and run a business in; and represent Sunset Park. Meetings are used to provide updates on new developments happening in the Sunset Park Industrial Business Zone, exchange information, and shape current and future activity taking place along the waterfront. Learn more about task force meetings.

Task Force Membership

The Sunset Park Task Force is made up of members that include Sunset Park residents, mission-driven organization leadership, public agency staff, local property owners, business owners, and local elected officials.
